Womp. The database was corrupted and I had to use a backup from 2018 (in 2021). Sorry for any data loss. A server update also broke a bunch of the site (I've got it mostly working, but some things may still be busted). Another unrelated server update also busted the way my wii homebrew connected to the site (so none of them can go online anymore and they may never change). Have I mentioned that I've had problems with this cheap web host?

Hmm, well I'm no expert tbh, but I think the reason for that is pretty much due it being open source and free.
Linux is highly customizable, so if there's a distro that doesn't have something that a user wants, they go and make their own distro. Linux is open source, you can mold and tweak it however you want and as a result there are a TON of them. For example, if you're new to linux you may want to go with Ubuntu or Linux Mint which are pretty and easy to use. Or, if you're more familiar with linux you can go with something that is SUPER secure like ArchLinux.
Having so many distros really just boils down to the Linux community being made out of a lot of crazy people who want their computer to be 100% theirs, and as a result they go and make their own distros for themselves and other peeps to use. If Windows was opensource and free there would be a ton of windows distros :)
Not sure if that makes sense, but I guess that's why there's so many (I might be wrong) :P
